The newer VMware Fusion can open your old virtual machines without any issues. Your old MS Office OTOH can have trouble opening documents made with the newer MS Office. You can open new and existing documents with your new MS Office. I’ve called the client to bring me one computer, but I’m certain I’m going to need to do a complete reinstall of 10.6.8 Server and just simply copy the apps over this time instead of migrating. The software runs as intended and my client has saved thousands of dollars as a result. ![]() What I ended up doing was installing 10.6.8 Server on each computer and then using Migration Assistant to transfer the entirety of each old Mac to VMware. Two machines were running Tiger 10.4.6 PPC and the others 10.6.8 Client. They purchased model iMacs and a Mac Mini to run VMware with 10.6.8 Server to continue using these PPC apps. I have an office of 4 Apple computers comprised of two 2006 17” iMacs, one old Intel Mac Mini Server, and one eMac (yes, the computer from the early 2000s.) This office runs some very old and very expensive PPC software. Perhaps I opened Pandora’ Box by accepting this project, but it’s just started to have it’s first problems.
